EatingOutReno.com Culinary BootCamp online course takes one through the essential skills development and training methods to prepare for work in a food service operation and or commercial kitchen.
As well as provide a level of working knowledge and an understanding of food safety and sanitation and how to feed oneself.
History of the Culinary BootCamp Hands on Cookery vocational course.
Culinary and Hospitality professionals were fundraising for their local high school by conducting a cake of the month bake sale.
The seniors and recently graduated students approached the Chefs with their plight.
They lived in the Northern California wine country and there were a number of restaurants and food service operations in town close to the high school. The students asked the Chefs how to get a job in their local restaurants.
The students had applied to the restaurants and were informed that they did not have any of the necessary skills to acquire entry level positions in commercial kitchens and dining establishments.
When the Chefs heard this they knew how they could help the students get jobs.
They would create and conduct a vocational training course that could train the students in a short period of time. The time that it takes to go through a military training BootCamp.
By the end of the training time period they would have to have developed the skills necessary to meet requirements for entry level food service positions in kitchens and restaurants.
Culinary BootCamp Hands on Cookery Manual ©2014 (the manual that drives the Culinary BootCamp course)was created focused on developing the skills necessary to work in the dynamic environment of commercial kitchens and food service operations.
After the Culinary BootCamp completed it's first year of operation the School district recognized the success of the Culinary and Hospitality vocational training program.
The Chefs and Culinary BootCamp after school program received the Rebecca Hopper award. Awarded for outstanding service for the students and young adults of the school district. (Presented by the West Sonoma County CA schools district .)
The award winning course was conducted in a high school kitchen for a four year period. (Analy High School in Sonoma County California)
Over 100 students and young adults completed the course. All acquired employment in food service operations and restaurants in the area. Some of the restaurants were Michelin starred establishments in northern California wine country.
The program has a 100% success rate.
The entire program was based on the Culinary BootCamp Hands on Cookery Manual.©2014
A number of young adults that recently graduated from the high school (where the program was being conducted) approached the Chefs.
Since they were no longer students they could not participate in the after school program.
They wanted a copy of the course manual so they could self administer the course.
They were all provided for free the Culinary BootCamp Hands on Cookery Manual so they could get the training they needed to get jobs in commercial kitchens and food service operations.
At the time young adults aged 18 to 21 received print copies of the Culinary BootCamp Hands on Cookery Manual©2014.
We asked the young adults to let us know when they acquired employment in a commercial kitchen and or food service operation.
Within 4 months all of them confirmed that they went through the course and we're able to get jobs and we're working.
